Code of Conduct

Our Values

The Sunday Baseball League is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants, regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or skill level.

Expected Behavior

  • Treat all players, coaches, officials, and spectators with respect and courtesy
  • Use appropriate language at all times - no profanity, harassment, or discriminatory remarks
  • Accept decisions made by umpires and league officials gracefully
  • Encourage teammates and show good sportsmanship toward opponents
  • Arrive on time and prepared for games and practices
  • Follow all league rules and regulations
  • Report any safety concerns or inappropriate behavior to league officials

Prohibited Conduct

  • Physical violence or threats of violence
  • Verbal abuse, harassment, or intimidation
  • Discrimination based on protected characteristics
  • Use of alcohol or illegal substances during league activities
  • Intentionally dangerous play or unsportsmanlike conduct
  • Arguing with or showing disrespect to umpires
  • Damage to league or facility property

Enforcement

Violations of this code may result in warnings, suspensions, or permanent removal from the league. The severity of consequences will depend on the nature and frequency of violations.

  • Registration Data: Team preferences, skill level, availability, medical information relevant to participation

Terms of Service

League Membership

  • Membership is open to adults 18 years and older
  • All players must complete registration and pay applicable fees
  • Players must provide accurate information during registration
  • Membership may be revoked for violations of league policies

Fees and Payments

  • Registration fees are due at the time of enrollment
  • Fees are non-refundable except in extraordinary circumstances
  • Additional fees may apply for tournaments or special events
  • Payment plans may be available upon request

Participation Requirements

  • Players must attend a minimum number of games to remain eligible
  • Teams must maintain minimum roster sizes
  • All participants must sign liability waivers
  • Players are responsible for their own equipment and transportation

Liability and Insurance

Participation in league activities involves inherent risks. Players participate at their own risk and are encouraged to maintain personal health insurance. The league carries general liability insurance but players should understand the limitations of coverage.

Dispute Resolution

Disputes should first be addressed with team captains or league officials. If resolution cannot be reached, formal grievance procedures are available. The league commissioner's decision on disputes is final.

Safety Guidelines

General Safety Rules

  • All players must wear appropriate protective equipment
  • Helmets are required for all batters and base runners
  • Catchers must wear full protective gear
  • Metal cleats are prohibited on artificial surfaces
  • No jewelry that could cause injury to self or others
  • Players with medical conditions must inform league officials

Weather Policies

  • Games may be postponed or cancelled due to severe weather
  • Lightning in the area results in immediate game suspension
  • Field conditions will be assessed before each game
  • Players should dress appropriately for weather conditions

Injury Procedures

  • Stop play immediately for any injury
  • Do not move seriously injured players
  • Call emergency services (911) for serious injuries
  • Notify league officials of all injuries
  • Complete incident reports for insurance purposes
  • Injured players must be cleared by medical professionals before returning

Equipment Safety

  • Inspect all equipment before use
  • Report damaged equipment immediately
  • Use only league-approved bats and balls
  • Properly maintain and store equipment
  • Replace worn or damaged protective gear
